Flossing Your Teeth – Tips & Benefits Of Flossing

Benefits of Flossing

During your routine dental checkup, patients will be asked if they have been flossing on a regular basis. Often times the answer is yes however some patients are still not flossing regularly.

Flossing daily plays an important role in your dental health. When brushing your teeth, you are primarily cleaning the exterior surface of your teeth and gums. When you floss your teeth, you are cleaning between your teeth and areas around your gums where your toothbrush can’t reach. Dental floss is designed specifically for cleaning in the tight areas and gaps between the teeth and the gums.

Flossing helps remove bacteria, tartar and food particles that is stuck in these tight places in your mouth. Good hygiene and proper dental care which includes daily flossing can help prevent diseases and help improve your overall oral health
